Mr. Thaxton joined The Elan Group after graduating from The University of Alabama with a degree in Finance. He began his career as a benefits enroller in 1988. During the next several years, Mr. Thaxton spent time learning the worksite market arena. He advanced within The Elan Group to case manager and enrollment supervisor. In 1994, he was advanced to Vice President Operations. During the next several years, Mr. Thaxton consolidated operations and redirected the agency into a full service employee benefits operations. During this time, The Elan Group sustained double digit growth and profitability. The Elan Group continues to be a premier employee benefits agency specializing in the worksite marketing arena. In January 2000, Mr. Thaxton was named President of The Elan Group. 
 
Mr. Thaxton is a CLU (Charter Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) and a Registered Representative holding the series 7 and 63 licenses. Mr. Thaxton is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, a member of The National Associations of Insurance and Financial Advisors- Tampa, a member of the Society of Financial Service Professional, Past President of the Tampa Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professional and a member of the Florida West Coast Employee Benefits Council. He is also a member Workplace Benefits Association.
 
Mr. Thaxton spouse’s name is Janelle and he has two sons, Sam and Will.
