Did You Know? On June 22, 2016, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan released a new Republican health care plan called “A Better Way,” which, if passed, would repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), but keep some of its more popular provisions intact. Those provisions include allowing children to stay on their parents’ plan until age 26 and not allowing those with pre-existing conditions to be denied coverage. The proposed plan would allow individuals to buy health insurance across state lines, expand the use of health savings accounts and establish a refundable tax credit for those who do not get insurance through their jobs.
